Wednesday Night High School Summer REFUGE
(Wednesday Nights 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM)REFUGE is our HS small group program specifically designed to reach out and meet the needs of all High School students, whether they are a regular attender of our Student Ministry Program or they are visitor brought by one of our students. A typical evening at REFUGE looks something like this: 7:00 PM-8:00 worship (led by our own student REFUGE Band and Praise Team), videos, dramas and challenging message. 8:00-9:00 Hang Time (during this time students can utilize the Locker Room, play video games, Pool, Foosball, etc. or just hangout with their friends in the Student Ministry Room relaxing, playing games, or enjoying food and smoothies that students can purchase from our snack shack. For High School Students REFUGE truly is where it all happens!!

An important goal of our Student Ministry Program is to expose students to Service and Mission opportunities. We try to do that through a variety of ways. First through service opportunities within our own church (reaching out to widows and those in our church who are in need), second through participation in Mission Groups serving the Kansas City Innercity (Freedom Fire, City Union Mission, Etc.), and third and final through participation in mission trips (High School Mexico Mission Trip, Middle School CIY KNOW SWEAT Work Camps, Etc.) We truly feel it's important to challenge our students to serve as Christ has challenged us to do.
Our Student Ministry Program sponsors a number of monthly and yearly events and activities for students to be involved in. Here is just a glimpse of some of our events and activities: Ice Skating Outings, Laser Tag Outings, Bowling, Concerts, trip to the Hay Swings in Springfield, CIY Summer Conference, CIY Middle School Believe Conference, Bible College Visits, CIY Ski Conference, Annual Super Bowl Party, and the list goes on and on!!
